About the internship
Energy Alternatives India (EAI) is seeking interns for its Agri & Biomass Research program. The internship focuses on understanding the agricultural residue landscape and the biomass supply chain to support research and consulting initiatives in bioenergy, bio-based materials, and low-carbon rural development.
Interns will contribute to analyzing feedstock availability, studying farmer practices, and developing insights on how agricultural biomass can be harnessed effectively for sustainable energy and climate solutions.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilites include:
1. Study the end-to-end supply chain of agricultural biomass - from residue generation to collection, aggregation, and utilization for bioenergy or material applications.
2. Analyze key physical and chemical characteristics of biomass feedstocks to assess their suitability for different applications such as biogas, pellets, or biofuels.
3. Review and document region-wise data on major agricultural residues (e.g., paddy straw, sugarcane bagasse, maize stalks) and their seasonal availability.
4. Understand current practices of residue handling and disposal among farmers through literature review and, where feasible, direct interactions or case study assessments.
5. Work closely with senior members of the consulting and research teams to provide analytical support for ongoing biomass and agri-waste projects.
6. Prepare detailed analytical reports, charts, and presentations summarizing findings, insights, and recommendations for internal and client-facing deliverables.
