What the role is about: You'll work on production-grade backend systems at Kraftshala - APIs, databases, internal tools, and business logic that power our student journeys, admissions workflows, and program operations.

About us: Kraftshala is India's largest higher-education institution in terms of marketing placements, with a 94% placement rate, and we are gunning to become the world's largest career launchpad, across domains. You'll collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and operations teams to build tools and features that directly impact student experience and internal efficiency. High performers will be considered for a full-time role at the end of the internship, based on ownership, code quality, and overall impact.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Build and maintain backend APIs using Node.js and TypeScript. Metrics to measure: Number of production APIs shipped, correctness of responses, adherence to API contracts.

3. Work with MySQL databases using Sequelize (models, migrations, associations).
Metrics to measure: Correct schema design, query efficiency, migration reliability.

About Kraftshala

We are an online higher education institution committed to playing the long game of building a transformative skilling experience for the masses. We call this - Scaling with Soul. This means we always prioritise student outcomes, specifically our placement rate, over other metrics such as the number of enrolments or company valuation in the coming year.

This is, of course, easier said than done. There are painful choices to be made at every stage that wouldn't have been needed were we willing to give up on either high quality or scale. But in the long run, we believe that our obsession over these student outcomes will earn Kraftshala the trust of Indian students, their families, recruiting companies, & the broader ecosystem. That's why we make each of our placement reports public, capturing how many students are placed in each batch, in what companies, at what salaries, etc.

In the last 4.5 years, we have placed more than 2500+ students with a placement rate of 94% (& improving).
