About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Conduct caregiver needs assessments and psychosocial screenings.
2. Provide supportive counselling to caregivers.
3. Offer psychoeducation on stress management, coping strategies, caregiver burnout, grief and bereavement, and effective communication with patients.
4. Maintain confidential counselling records and documentation.
5. Coordinate with psychologists, psychiatrists, oncologists, nurses, and medical social workers to ensure holistic patient care.
6. Assist in crisis intervention and referrals, as required.
7. Develop educational materials and informational resources for caregivers.
8. Participate in case discussions, supervision sessions, and departmental meetings.
9. Assist in data collection, audits, research projects, and outcome evaluations related to psycho-oncology services.

Other requirements

1. A master's degree (completed or in progress) in any field, psychology (counseling/clinical), or related field is a plus.

2. Interest in psycho-oncology, palliative care, or caregiver mental health

3. Previous internship or volunteering experience in counseling, hospitals, NGOs, or mental health settings is an advantage.
