DESCRIPTION

About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Record daily financial transactions, including expenses, bills, and vouchers, in accounting software or Excel sheets.
2. Assist in maintaining cash books and project-wise expenditure records.
3. Support in preparing monthly reconciliation statements and verifying supporting documents.
4. Help compile financial data for donor reports and internal audits.
5. Check vendor bills and ensure timely processing of payments with proper approvals.
6. Organize receipts and digital records for audit and compliance purposes.
7. Coordinate with the Admin and Program teams to collect expense details from field offices.
8. Assist in preparing draft budgets, financial summaries, and MIS reports.
9. Learn about fund flow management, donor compliance, and NGO accounting systems under supervision.
10. Participate in team meetings to understand ongoing financial and project management activities.

Other requirements

1. Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS basics)

2. Proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)

3. Basic financial statement preparation & analysis (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)

4. Understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, and ledgers

5. Exposure to accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Zoho, or ERP systems)

6. Budgeting & forecasting fundamentals

7. Basic tax and compliance knowledge

8. Financial data interpretation and variance analysis

9. Ability to work with large data sets and identify trends

10. Problem-solving with a structured, logical approach

11. Attention to detail and accuracy

12. Strong organizational and time management abilities

13. Clear communication (written & verbal) for reporting and teamwork

14. Adaptability to fast-paced and deadline-driven environments

15. Ethical judgment and confidentiality in handling sensitive data

16. Power BI /Tableau (for data visualization)

17. Knowledge of financial modeling in Excel

18. Awareness of corporate finance concepts (NPV, IRR, ROI)
