About the internship
As an Interior Design Intern at Imex Homes, you'll gain real-world experience in luxury bespoke furniture design and learn the complete process from concept to creation. You'll work directly under the founder, a design professional with over 20 years of hands-on experience, and be mentored in both technical and creative aspects of the craft.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Collaborating directly with the founder to understand real-world design challenges, material applications, and the finer details of bespoke furniture design.
2. Learning and developing technical working drawings in 3D using Autodesk Revit, with a focus on precision, functionality, and aesthetic balance.
3. Preparing detailed cut-lists for production (comprehensive training will be provided).
4. Interpreting client briefs and translating design concepts into accurate working and shop drawings.
5. Reviewing site measurements and conditions to ensure technical drawings reflect on-site realities.
6. Collaborating with production and installation teams to ensure seamless coordination between design and execution.
7. Organizing and updating project documentation, design files, and drawing records for efficient workflow.
8. Following in-house production standards and detailing protocols to maintain consistency across projects.
9. Attending client meetings or vendor discussions, when required, for exposure to real-world project management and communication dynamics.
10. Thriving under deadlines and learning to manage multiple deliverables with a results-oriented approach.

Other requirements
We’re looking for enthusiastic and driven design minds who are eager to learn, create, and grow in a real-world design environment.
Preferred candidates should be:
1. Pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field.
2. Skilled in AutoCAD; knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, or other 3D visualization tools is a strong plus.
3. Detail-oriented, with a basic understanding of furniture joinery and construction principles.
4. Capable of managing time effectively and adapting quickly to new challenges.
5. Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced studio environment.
