About the internship
As a Java full stack intern at Gateway Software Solutions, you'll contribute to application development while building practical experience across backend services, databases, and web features. You'll work with experienced teammates to understand requirements, implement changes, and improve your Java development skills.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Develop and update application features using Java, applying object-oriented programming principles to write clear, maintainable code.
2. Assist with backend development in Spring Boot and the Spring Framework, including controllers, services, and data access components.
3. Help build and connect microservices, learning how services exchange data and handle application workflows.
4. Write and refine MySQL queries and support database integration for application features.
5. Contribute to front-to-back feature work by connecting application interfaces with backend endpoints and verifying data flow.
6. Test code changes, investigate defects, and collaborate with teammates to resolve issues before updates are delivered.
7. Participate in code reviews and technical discussions, incorporating feedback and documenting your work for the team.
