About the internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Work with the core engineering team on conceptual design and sizing of an advanced fixed-wing UAV, including wing geometry, aircraft configuration, performance estimation, weight estimation and aerodynamic trade studies.
2. Develop and refine detailed 3D CAD models and the aircraft Outer Mold Line (OML) using tools such as SolidWorks or CATIA, considering aerodynamic efficiency, packaging, manufacturability and structural requirements.
3. Perform aerodynamic analysis and CFD simulations using tools such as OpenVSP, XFLR5, ANSYS Fluent or equivalent to evaluate lift, drag, stability, cruise performance and aerodynamic margins.
4. Design major structural elements including spars, ribs, mounting structures and composite components, and perform FEA to validate structural integrity under expected flight and ground loads.
5. Conduct aircraft weight, balance and Center of Gravity (CG) analysis across different loading and fuel conditions, maintaining a disciplined aircraft mass budget.
6. Support multidisciplinary engineering trade studies involving aerodynamics, structures, propulsion integration, manufacturability and aircraft performance.
7. Participate in design reviews, prototype development, manufacturing coordination, ground testing and iterative improvement of the aircraft.
8. Document calculations, assumptions, simulations and design decisions in a clear engineering format and present findings during technical reviews.

3. are available for duration of 6 months
4. are from Hyderabad only
5. have relevant skills and interests
* Women wanting to start/restart their career can also apply.
Other requirements
1. Candidates pursuing or recently graduated in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a strong engineering program are preferred.
2. Strong understanding of fixed-wing aircraft design, aerodynamics, aircraft performance, stability and control, structures and basic propulsion integration is preferred.
3. Hands-on experience with SAE Aero Design, FSAE Aero, UAV teams, RC aircraft, aircraft design competitions or independently built fixed-wing aircraft will be highly valued.
4. Candidates should be comfortable working from first principles rather than only operating CAD/CAE software.
5. Prior project experience with SolidWorks/CATIA, OpenVSP/XFLR5/AVL, ANSYS Fluent/OpenFOAM, Abaqus or similar engineering tools is strongly preferred.
6. We value candidates who have actually designed, built, tested or flown something. Personal engineering projects, competition teams and serious technical portfolios will be given significant weight.
7. Candidates should be willing to work full-time from our engineering facility and thrive in a fast-paced deep-tech startup environment.
