About the Role
Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery is looking for highly motivated, curious and organised Project Management Interns to work closely with the CEO's Office on a range of strategic and operational initiatives.
This is an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to project management, business research, strategy, stakeholder management, MIS, process improvement and management reporting in a dynamic education and industry ecosystem.
The ideal candidate should enjoy working on multiple projects, be comfortable with research and data, have strong communication skills, and possess the ability to convert information into meaningful insights and actionable outputs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management & Coordination
Assist in coordinating strategic and operational projects across administration, operations, marketing, social media and other business initiatives.
Track project timelines, milestones, deliverables and action points.
Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
Support the CEO's Office in monitoring project progress and follow-ups.
2. Research & Business Analysis
Conduct research on the gem & jewellery industry, global markets, competitors, government initiatives, private enterprises and emerging business opportunities.
Track industry developments, trends and developments relevant to IIGJ.
Analyse information and convert research into actionable business insights.
Assist in preparing management reports, presentations, concept notes and research briefs.
3. Communication & Stakeholder Management
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders for project-related requirements.
Prepare presentations, official communications, meeting notes and follow-up updates.
Support coordination with consultants, agencies, vendors and other service providers.
Maintain effective follow-up and documentation of stakeholder interactions.
4. Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, productivity and efficiency.
Research and suggest relevant tools, systems and best practices.
Assist in documenting SOPs, workflows and process guidelines.
Support implementation of productivity-enhancing initiatives.
5. MIS, Data & Management Reporting
Use MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other digital tools to manage and analyse project information.
Assist in developing MIS reports, dashboards, trackers and management presentations.
Analyse project data and prepare summaries for management review.
Support preparation of proposals, business cases and presentations.
Assist the CEO's Office in monitoring project timelines, budgets and deliverables.
6. Special Projects
Work on cross-functional assignments and strategic initiatives undertaken by the CEO's Office.
Take up additional projects and responsibilities based on organisational priorities and demonstrate the ability to work across functions.
