The internship is a hands-on 'build' project, not a desk job. The intern will own the lifecycle of the machine vision system.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
A. Phase 1: Hardware Setup & Integration:
1. Selecting and bench-testing the camera (Global Shutter) and lighting hardware.
2. Setting up the compute unit (Jetson/Pi) with the necessary Linux drivers and libraries.
B. Phase 2: Data Engineering:
1. Running the machine to capture 'Real World' datasets
2. Annotating/Labelling the data to teach the AI what a 'Defect' looks like.
C. Phase 3: Development & Logic:
1. Training the AI model to achieve high accuracy (>99%) and low latency (<50ms).
2. Writing the Python control script: If "Defect" is detected Trigger GPIO Pin Activate Relay.
D. Phase 4: Production Deployment:
1. Wiring the system into the machine's Stop Circuit (under supervision).
2. Conducting 'stress tests' during live production to ensure the system doesn't stop the machine falsely.
3. Creating a 'User Manual' for the factory operators.
Only those candidates can apply who:
1. are available for full time (in-office) internship
2. can start the internship between 13th Dec'25 and 17th Jan'26
3. are available for duration of 3 months
4. have relevant skills and interests
A. Good-to-Have (Bonus Skills):
1. Familiarity with training object detection models (specifically YOLOv8, TensorFlow Lite, or PyTorch).
2. Experience using tools like Roboflow or CVAT to label and annotate image data.
3. Basic knowledge of Fusion 360 or SolidWorks to design and print camera mounts.
4. Being a 'Maker' or 'Builder,' not just a coder.
B. Educational Background:
1. Current students or recent graduates in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electronics & Communication, or Computer Science.
C. The 'Maker' Mindset:
1. Having built physical projects (e.g., line follower robots, IoT home automation, drones, or RC cars).
2. Comfortable working with hardware, wiring, and in factory environments.
D. Availability: Willing to work on-site at the factory; this work cannot be done remotely.
Stipend Structure:
Fixed pay: ₹ 20,000 - 30,000 /month
Incentive pay: ₹ 3,000 - 5,000 /month
