Just as with any other tool, a computer mouse would eventually need some maintenance due to its continuous usage. The typical wear and tear of the product allows it to function less efficiently than how it had been during the time that it was once bought. After all, deterioration is inevitable In the odd case or two that your Xiaomi mouse is in need of a good replenishment especially if there are some scrolling problems, then here are a few, simple steps which would help solve the case. But do be careful in handling all the parts as they are quite vulnerable, and the plate where the chips are are highly sensitive. Please be certain that no other particle or substance would damage the mouse especially when it would be pried open. Steady hands would do the trick.
What we need:
First, remove the batteries from the mouse and set them aside.
Then, with the use of a sturdy screwdriver, carefully undo all the screws at the bottom part of the mouse. You should be able to pry open the tool after this step, and the plate should be visible once the two parts of the mouse have been separated.
Take the can of WD-40 and gently apply the substance into the scroll. This step would create a more fluid roll of the wheel against the scroll, and if properly lubricated, would no longer cause any problems with your mouse scrolling. Wipe any excess liquid which may have been sprayed onto the scroll.
Put back the pieces (wheel, chip to the plate, plastic parts of the mouse) together by carefully locking them up with the screws previously used. Return the batteries and check if the product is running smoothly once more.
If properly done, you will find that your mouse will be working normally again.
